Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Work in Neuro Med/Surg Telemetry unit that is a Certified Stroke Center and Level IV Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU)
• Serve patients with neuro-related diagnoses as well as telemetry overflow patients from other populations
• 36 hours per week guaranteed with every other weekend and holiday requirement
• 5:1 patient ratio for days, nights, and weekends
• Float required to M/S and M/S Tele units as needed to support hospital needs
• 40-hour orientation provided
• Care for adults and geriatric patients in 36-bed unit with daily census of 36
• 2 years of nursing experience required
• Neurology experience and MS/Tele experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, 16 hr Maryland Approved Trauma Cert by week 27
• Basic EKG testing required through Prophecy Relias (must be completed before orientation)
• Valid Maryland or Compact license required at time of submission
• Patient diagnoses include CVA, epilepsy, ischemic stroke, seizures, post-surgical cases, and medical surgical with/without telemetry
• Special procedures include EEG continuous bedside monitoring, telemetry, and bladder scan
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, and rapid response teams
• Complete non-billable modules virtually on first day (8 hours for new starts, 115 minutes annually for TELE RN)
• Separation policy: cannot work more than 365 days regardless of time off between contracts, requires 6-month separation to return
