Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work in progressive care unit focusing on cardiovascular patients with 1:4 patient ratios
• Must be flexible with weekend requirements and work 50% of weekends in contract
• Required to float to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) as needed
• May be assigned charge nurse responsibilities with provided training
• Expected to precept students and work in teaching facility environment
• 2 years of nursing experience required
• Trauma Level I experience required
• Required certifications: BCLS, ACLS preferred
• Skills required: Cardiac PCU, drips, post cath lab, IV starts, and sheath pulls
• Preferred skills: Conscious sedation and telemetry
• Care for patients with cardiovascular diagnoses including CHF, post-MI, pulmonary hypertension, cardiac arrhythmias, COPD, and congenital heart defects
• Handle post-cath lab procedures, pre-LVAD placements, and heart/lung transplant patients
• 36 hours of orientation provided
• Call-ins must be made up during pay period or added to end of contract
• Charting system: Cerner preferred
• Unit has 28 beds with daily census of 27 patients
