Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Work 3x12 night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• 2 years of experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Must successfully pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with minimum 80% overall score and 100% on lethal rhythms
• Weekend coverage required every other weekend (6 weekend shifts per 13-week contract)
• Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed
• Patient ratio of 5:1 for all shifts
• 24-hour orientation provided
• Adult-only telemetry unit (no pediatric care required)
• Skills required: Telemetry monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Additional skills include: IV management, central line care, chest tube management, wound care, blood product administration, and various specialized equipment operation
• Must have compact license or Maryland license
• Two supervisor references required
• Maximum 7 days RTO per 13-week contract preferred with no RTO in first two weeks

This healthcare facility operates a 44-bed medical surgical telemetry unit that serves as the primary destination for most surgical cases. The facility features a robust orthopedic program including total joint replacements, along with colorectal surgeries, vascular procedures, and bariatric surgery. The unit maintains comprehensive interdisciplinary support services including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. Patient diagnoses commonly include diabetes, congestive heart failure, COPD, general surgery cases, and various medical conditions requiring telemetry monitoring.
