Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Provide nursing care for post cardiac surgery and post vascular surgery patients
• Work with patient ratios of 1:3-5 based on acuity for days, nights, and weekends
• Work every other weekend per contract with potential for consecutive weekends based on operational needs
• Must have 2 years of nursing experience with Level I or Level II Trauma experience required
• 24 hours of orientation provided
• Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
• Required certifications: ACLS and BCLS
• Must be proficient in telemetry, IV starts, and cardiac drip titration
• Floating is 100% required to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) at University and Methodist Hospitals
• Refusal to float may result in contract termination
• May be assigned charge nurse responsibilities with training and resources provided
• Work with Alaris pumps and manage patients on multiple drips
• Call-in shifts must be made up during pay period or added to end of contract
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Strong cardiac and post-operative heart surgery experience essential
• First time travelers accepted but locals not accepted
• Flu vaccine required with medical/religious exemptions only
