Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required with previous charge experience mandatory
• Must be flexible with weekend requirements - able to work 50% of weekends during contract
• Patient ratio of 1:3-4 (rarely 1:5 during emergencies)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIHSS
• Must have telemetry and proficient neuro experience, plus management of drips
• Preferred skills: conscious sedation and Level 1 trauma experience
• Floating required to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) within facility and affiliate hospitals
• May be assigned charge nurse responsibilities with training and resources provided
• Must agree to possibility of precepting and/or having students shadow during assignment
• Care for patients with CVAs, hydrocephalus, brain tumors and resections, seizures, TBIs, trauma patients, and GI surgeries
• Skills include arterial line management, blood product administration, ventilated patient care, central line management, chest tubes, feeding tube care, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, PICC line management, pre/post neurosurgery care, spinal cord injury care, IV management, surgical drains, cardiac drip titration, and wound care
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Call-in shifts must be made up during pay period or added to end of contract
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• First time travelers accepted
• Indiana residents not accepted for this position
