Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Minimum 2 years nursing experience required with proficient neuro experience
• Previous charge experience required - charge coverage responsibilities may be needed with training
• Must be flexible with weekend requirements - work 50% of weekends during contract
• Patient ratios of 1:3-4 (rarely 1:5 during emergencies)
• 24-bed progressive care unit treating adults and geriatrics
• Care for patients with CVAs, hydrocephalus, brain tumors and resections, seizures, TBIs, trauma cases, GI surgeries, and wound care
• Required certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIHSS
• Floating required 100% - may float between Med-Surg, PCU, ICU levels of care
• Must be comfortable with precepting students and having students shadow
• Skills required: telemetry, management of drips, neuro assessment, arterial lines, central lines, chest tubes, ventilated patients
• Preferred skills: conscious sedation and Level 1 trauma experience
• Charting system: Cerner (preferred experience)
• Call-in policy: missed shifts must be made up or added to end of contract
• First time travelers accepted
• Local Indiana nurses not accepted for this position
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
