Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Available in 8-hour, 10-hour, and 12-hour shift options
• Guaranteed hours: 40 hours per week for 8/10-hour shifts, 36 hours for three 12-hour shifts, 48 hours for four 12-hour shifts
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6
• Every other weekend requirement, with potential for consecutive weekends based on operational needs
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• 2 years of nursing experience required
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Charge experience preferred
• BLS certification required
• Indiana state nursing license must be in hand prior to start date
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required within scope to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) at University and Methodist Hospitals
• Care for post-operative patients from Urology, GYN, GI, Orthopedics and some pre-operative patients
• Work in a highly fast-paced unit environment
• May be required to assume charge nurse responsibilities with training and resources provided
• Skills include dysrhythmia interpretation and management, feeding tube care, port access, continuous bladder irrigation, blood product administration, central line management, PICC line management, IV therapy, wound care, and isolation precautions
• Charting system: Cerner
• 30-bed unit serving adult and geriatric patients
