Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work in Medical Surgical unit with Float ED Overflow capacity
• 48-hour or 36-hour shift options available
• Team nursing model with ratios assigned to team of LPNs, RNs, Nurse Techs & Resource Nurse
• Patient ratios of 6:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• On-call shifts as needed
• Weekend coverage as needed
• Care for adults and geriatric patients on 45-bed unit
• Daily census of 30-35 patients
• Primary focus on surgical oncology patients with medical oncology and medical-surgical overflow
• Work with patients having central lines (PAC, PICC lines, and midlines)
• Perform wound care, manage drains, ostomies, and Foleys
• Handle PCA pumps and patients receiving chemotherapy (ONS nurses only)
• Limited phlebotomy coverage available at night
• 2+ years recent experience required (3+ years preferred)
• Travel experience required
• Level I Trauma experience required
• Large hospital experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
• Skills include: IV starts, administer chemotherapy (certified nurses only), conscious sedation
• Active RN license in state or compact license required
• Flu vaccine required with no exemptions
• Must live at least 100 miles from facility
• Cerner experience preferred
• ADN acceptable (BSN not required for this position)
