Opportunity:

RN - ER

Job Details:

• Work 4x12 hour shifts per week
• Maintain 4:1 patient ratio for days, nights, and weekends
• 2 years of nursing experience required
• 1 year of Level I or Level II trauma experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS
• Must have triage experience and previous charge experience preferred
• Valid Maryland or Compact nursing license required
• Float to 3W as needed to care for ED overflow patients
• Care for patients of all age groups from neonates to geriatrics
• Handle daily census of approximately 200 visits per day in 73-bed emergency department
• Work with Level II Trauma Center protocols and procedures
• Weekend coverage required with 6 weekend shifts per contract
• Holiday work required per unit needs
• 48-hour orientation provided
• Complete annual modules: 175 minutes for ED RN
• Experience with Cerner charting system preferred
• Must be competent in arterial line management, central line care, IV sedation, and trauma care
• Handle trauma cases including gunshot wounds, spinal cord injuries, and traumatic brain injuries

This comprehensive medical center operates as a Level II Trauma Center with specialized services including a Cath Lab, Comprehensive Stroke Center, and Open Heart Center. The facility features a full-service emergency department with 73 beds and handles approximately 200 patient visits daily. The hospital provides complete pediatric services with PICU, pediatric hospital, and NICU units, along with labor and delivery services. The emergency department is equipped to handle complex cases with extensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams.
