Opportunity:

RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work in Neuro Stepdown unit with Med Surg overflow capacity
• Neurological experience required
• 36 or 48-hour shifts available, schedule may change during interview process
• Patient ratio of 1:6/7 with team nursing model (goal ratio 1:5)
• Care for adult and geriatric patients
• 48-bed unit with 42 daily census
• Weekend coverage required as needed
• On-call shifts as needed
• Must have 2+ years of experience (3+ years preferred)
• Travel experience required
• Level I Trauma experience required
• Large hospital experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Skills include telemetry monitoring and IV starts
• Must live at least 100 miles from facility
• Flu vaccine required with no exemptions
• Cerner experience preferred
• Handle cardiac med-surg patients including CHF, AMI, post-cath lab, pacemaker placements, and ablations
• Verify rhythm strips, manage drips at set rates, and titrate heparin per protocol
• Work with interdisciplinary team including PT, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, and rapid response teams
