RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Patient ratio of 6:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• 12-hour orientation required
• Weekend coverage required with every other holiday
• Can be pulled to all other inpatient units (agency nurses are first to be pulled)
• No specific scheduling requests can be guaranteed (no block scheduling)
• Care for adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including chest pain, CAD, PVD, arrhythmias, DM, COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, hypertension, MI, renal failure, PE, CHF, GI bleed, and syncope
• Potential for med-surg overflow patients (GI bleed, sepsis, CVA, COVID+)
• Perform pre/post cath lab care, PPM/AICD procedures, ablations, post-op CABG and thoracotomy care
• Manage vascular surgeries including CEAs, fem-pops, AAA repair
• Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips (Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Nitroglycerin, Dopamine, heparin)
• Perform sheath pulling at bedside
• Work with telemetry monitoring, chest tubes, PCAs, epidurals, and wound vacs
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, CPI, NIHSS, Telemetry
• Must have 2+ years of experience in specialty
• Must live over 65 miles from facility (no local travelers accepted)
• Louisiana or Compact license required upon submittal
• NURSYS report required (must be within 4 weeks of submission)
• May be assigned to "Emergency Team" during emergency events with expectation to stay until event passes
