Description
Opportunity:
RN - PICU
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour day shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
• 36 hours per week guaranteed
• Every other weekend requirement
• Float required as needed within hospital or to affiliate hospitals
• No call requirement
• Patient ratio of 1:2 based on acuity, sometimes 1:3
• 2 years of experience required with PICU experience mandatory
• First-time travelers accepted with minimum 2 years of experience
• Required certifications: BLS, PALS
• Preferred skills: Neurology experience, chemotherapy administration, IV placement and lab draw
• Epic charting system experience required
• North Carolina or Compact license required
• Care for patients ages 0-17 years with diagnoses including respiratory, neurosurgery, hematology/oncology
• Manage neurology post-operative patients frequently
• Work in 8-10 bed unit that functions as both PICU and intermediate care when needed
• Dress code: Pediatric-friendly tops with navy blue pants or all navy scrubs (not provided)
• Maximum 7 days requested time off allowed
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Cannot work more than 5 days in a row or 60 hours per week
• Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable modules pre-start and annually

This medical center operates a specialized pediatric intensive care unit that serves as a regional referral center for critically ill children. The facility features an 8-10 bed PICU that cares for patients with complex medical conditions and houses the only pediatric board-certified neurosurgeon in the region. The unit manages a diverse patient population and sometimes functions as an intermediate care unit when needed, providing flexible and comprehensive pediatric critical care services.

I always look around for all the options as most of travelers do, but end up with this company, because They don’t fail me! Good competitive rates and always attention. Vincent Poast is the guy you want to deal with no matter what is your experience in traveling and profession. He always explains all pros and cons of a contract. I feel like he is on my side compared to other recruiters. The most important part for me that he always answers my calls and texts no matter if it’s a weekend or after hours! Also, if he can’t help me directly, he would get a ADEX staff member who resolves an issue right the way. The whole team has been very helpful for almost 6 contracts now. Oh, and another very important thing for me that Vince never pushes to get into a contract and bothers like a lot of other recruiters that calling and texting day and night. He lets you decide what you really want !
