Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Schedule requires 3 shifts per week (3x12)
• Every other weekend required
• Float within skillset required
• Patient ratio of 5-6 patients during all shifts
• Must successfully pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with minimum 80% overall score and 100% on lethal rhythms
• Care for adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including stroke/TIA, pneumonia, diabetes mellitus, ESRD, renal failure, and PE/DVT
• Perform telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, blood product administration, phlebotomy, PICC line management, IV starts and maintenance
• Manage colostomy care, feeding tubes, pre/post hemodialysis, wound care including wound vacs
• Handle heparin and insulin administration, isolation precautions, and peritoneal dialysis procedures
• Utilize Rapid Response/Code teams and work with interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy
• Required certifications: BLS and NIHSS
• ACLS preferred
• 2 years of nursing experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Experience with Cerner charting system preferred
• First time travelers accepted
• 12 hours of orientation provided
• Flu vaccine required with no exemptions

Facility:

This healthcare facility features a 38-bed medical surgical telemetry unit with 17 rooms and maintains a daily census of approximately 35 patients. The facility provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support services including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary support. The organization focuses on providing quality care for adult and geriatric patients with various medical conditions requiring telemetry monitoring and specialized nursing interventions.
