Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required with telemetry and proficient neuro experience
• Must be flexible with weekend requirements - able to work 50% of weekends in contract
• Patient ratios of 1:3-4 (rarely 1:5 during emergencies)
• 24-bed unit caring for adults and geriatrics
• Care for patients with CVAs, hydrocephalus, brain tumors and resections, seizures, TBIs, trauma patients, GI surgeries, and wound care
• Required certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIHSS
• Previous charge experience required - charge coverage may be needed with training provided
• Floating required to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) at University and Methodist Hospitals
• Must be comfortable with precepting and having students shadow
• Skills required: arterial line management, ventilated patient care, neuro stepdown, drip management, central line care, wound care
• Preferred skills: conscious sedation and Level 1 trauma experience
• Call-in policy requires makeup shifts or extension of contract
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• First time travelers accepted, Indiana locals not accepted for this position
