Opportunity:

RN - NICU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts with self-scheduling
• Patient ratios of 1-4 depending on acuity for days, nights, and weekends
• Weekend coverage required
• 24-hour orientation period with first week orientation from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM (3x12s)
• Must have 1 year of nursing experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, CPI (MAB accepted in lieu of CPI), NRP, and STABLE
• Must be comfortable working with prison population and incarcerated patients
• Must have experience with L&D and willingness to float to other units as needed
• May be floated to any unit of the hospital as a sitter if needed
• Will assist with cross-training efforts and provide coverage for Delivery/MB as facility transitions to LDRP model
• Must be experienced in attending high-risk deliveries or willing to be trained
• Required to work with neonates 32 weeks and above in NICU level II setting
• Experience with combined NICU and well-baby nursery required
• Must be comfortable being the only caregiver during emergencies while other nurse cares for nursery babies
• Skills required include blood glucose monitoring, isolation precautions, starting and maintaining IVs, antibiotics/antivirals, phlebotomy, and ventilator management
• Tennessee state license or multi-state compact license required
• Must complete HealthStream approvals 12 days prior to start date
• Must complete non-billable modules pre-start (generally up to 2 hours)

This public hospital provides comprehensive healthcare services with a 14-bed NICU and well-baby nursery unit that maintains a daily census of 6 patients. The facility offers extensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy services. The hospital is transitioning to an LDRP model and focuses on providing specialized care for neonates 32 weeks and above in a NICU level II setting.
