Opportunity:

RN - Acute Care

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts, 3 shifts per week
• Patient ratio of 1:6 across all shifts
• Float pool position covering acute care and medical-surgical telemetry units
• Must have medical-surgical telemetry experience
• 2 years of nursing experience required
• First-time travelers accepted with good experience and knowledge
• Weekend requirements discussed during interview
• On-call rotation required
• Block scheduling available when permitted
• 24 hours of orientation provided
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS (must have at time of submission), ACLS preferred
• Must obtain flu vaccine - no exemptions allowed
• Valid Kentucky or compact state nursing license required
• Meditech charting system experience preferred
• Care for patients of all ages: adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics
• Handle typical medical-surgical diagnoses including pneumonia, UTI, sepsis, cellulitis
• Manage swing bed patients with conditions like hip fractures, CVA rehab, and long-term IV antibiotics
• Skills required include telemetry monitoring, feeding tube management, chest tube care, wound care, central line management, and blood product administration
• 65-mile radius rule applies for local candidates
• Two pre-approved time off requests allowed per contract

This medical facility operates a 24-bed acute care unit with a daily census of approximately 18 patients. The facility provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy services. The organization offers both acute care services and swing bed capabilities for rehabilitation and extended care needs, serving patients across all age groups in a supportive healthcare environment.
