Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• 12-hour shifts with 6:1 patient ratio for days, nights, and weekends
• Weekend coverage required
• Float pool participation required (agency first pull)
• No call required
• 12 hours of orientation provided
• Must live over 65 miles from facility (no local travelers accepted)
• 2 years of acute care experience required
• Telemetry experience and ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias required
• BLS certification required, ACLS and NIH preferred
• Louisiana or Compact license required upon submittal
• Unit accepts first time travelers
• Care for adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including chest pain, CAD, DM, PVD, COPD, COVID+, TIA, stroke, hypertension, and various cardiac arrhythmias
• Perform pre and post angiogram/angioplasty care, assist with PPM/AICD procedures, and manage patients undergoing general surgical procedures
• Work with telemetry monitoring, chest tubes, and wound vacs
• Manage cardiac drips without titration and provide care for post-cardiac catheterization patients
• May be assigned to Emergency Team during weather events or emergencies with expectation to remain at facility
• NURSYS report required within 4 weeks of submission
• Two manager/supervisor references required for clearance to start

This medical center operates a 24-bed Med Surg Telemetry unit with comprehensive cardiac monitoring capabilities and interdisciplinary support services. The facility provides advanced cardiac care including pre and post-catheterization services, cardiac rhythm management, and specialized procedures. The unit maintains full interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, and rapid response teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
