Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• 36 or 48 hours per week accepted
• 13-26 week assignments available
• Patient ratio of 1:6-7
• Charge nurse role required for night travelers
• Must work every other weekend
• Must be able to work holidays and 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Floating required to similar units and alternate care locations with inpatients
• Call required if put on prescheduled shift
• Assigned to Inclement Weather Team and Storm/Hurricane Team
• Must report to work during catastrophic events, mass casualty, or disasters
• 24-hour orientation required
• Navy scrubs required (not provided)
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• 2 years minimum experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Epic experience required
• Must be able to manage insulin and heparin drips
• BCLS certification required
• CPI and charge nurse experience preferred
• Care for adults and geriatric patients with general Med/Surg diagnoses
• Daily census approximately 43 patients
• Handle insulin drips, heparin drips, wound vac dressing changes, high flow oxygen
• Occasional limited short-term BiPap with respiratory support
• Use PYXIS and Epic systems
• Maximum 7 days RTO allowed
• Cannot work more than 5 days in a row or more than 60 hours per week
• Must complete 8-10 hours of non-billable modules pre-start and annually
