Description
Opportunity:
RN - PICU
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Schedule includes 3 shifts per week (3x12s)
• Patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2 based on acuity
• Weekend requirement: 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule with holiday rotation
• Float required to NICU, PICU, and Pediatric Stepdown units as needed
• Guaranteed hours with traveler may be cancelled one shift every 2 weeks
• 2 years of Pediatric Cardiac ICU experience required
• CV and Pediatric experience required, VAD experience highly preferred
• Required certifications: PALS, BLS (American Heart Association only)
• Preferred certification: ACLS (American Heart Association only)
• South Carolina or Multi State/Compact RN license required
• Care for patients with congenital heart disease of any age based on care needs
• Work with cardiac surgery patients, Ventricular Assist Devices, Heart Transplant procedures
• Provide ECMO/CRRT and complex supportive therapies
• VAD training required upon arrival to unit
• Work with special equipment including ECMO, CRRT, Berlin Hearts, HeartMate3, Impella, and VAD
• 12 hours of orientation provided
• Complete approximately 4 hours of non-billable modules pre-start
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• First-time travelers accepted
• Must provide all RTO requests at time of submission

This 820-bed Level I Trauma Center and Magnet Hospital serves as a major teaching facility specializing in pediatric cardiac care. The Pediatric Cardiology Intensive Care unit is a 29-bed Gold Beacon Award-winning unit that serves as the referral center for all major pediatric cardiac surgery in South Carolina. The unit maintains an average daily census of 26 patients and has been voted #4 in US News report and #1 in the nation for outcomes. The facility offers comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and specialized pediatric services.

I am an Adult Cardiac Sonographer and I have been traveling for almost 3 years now and pretty much all the time with ADEX Healthcare staffing. I always look around for all the options as most of travelers do, but end up with this company, because They don’t fail me! Good competitive rates and always attention. Vincent Poast is the guy you want to deal with no matter what is your experience in traveling and profession. He always explains all pros and cons of a contract. I feel like he is on my side compared to other recruiters. The most important part for me that he always answers my calls and texts no matter if it’s a weekend or after hours! Also, if he can’t help me directly, he would get a ADEX staff member who resolves an issue right the way. The whole team has been very helpful for almost 6 contracts now. Oh, and another very important thing for me that Vince never pushes to get into a contract and bothers like a lot of other recruiters that calling and texting day and night. He lets you decide what you really want !
