Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Minimum 2 years of experience required; will consider MedSurg RN with ICU and PCU patient experience with additional two years
• Travel experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
• Charge experience preferred or willingness to train as charge is required
• Expected to work every other weekend per contract, with consecutive weekends possible based on operational needs
• May be required to provide charge nurse coverage with training and resources provided
• Must agree to possibility of precepting and/or being assigned students to shadow
• Floating required to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) within hospital or to affiliate hospitals
• Staffing ratios: PCU assignments 1:4, MedSurg assignments 1:5-6
• Work with mixed acuity patients including COPD, CHF, pulmonary fibrosis, lung cancer, lung transplant patients, tracheostomies, and stable trach-to-ventilator patients
• Skills required include accessing/managing ports, arterial line management, titrating cardiac drips, cardiac telemetry, central line care, ventilated patient care, and tracheostomy management
• Flu vaccine required with medical/religious exemptions only
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Call-in policy requires makeup shifts within pay period or added to end of contract
