Opportunity:

RN - CVICU

Job Details:

• Work three 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend schedule - 6 weekends (both Saturday and Sunday) in 13-week contract
• Individualized scheduling available (blocked scheduling or other arrangements)
• Holiday coverage as needed
• Float required if needed between all campuses
• Patient ratios of 1:2 for days, nights, and weekends
• 36 hours of orientation provided
• Care for adults and geriatric patients in a 26-bed unit with daily census of 21
• Minimum 2 years of experience required (first time travelers accepted)
• Previous charge experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS
• Must pass EKG exam during compliance (2 attempts allowed)
• SICU experience preferred
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Care for Medical/Surgical Cardiac ICU patients including MI, CHF, cardiac surgeries, post cardiac cath, LVAD, Impella, IABP patients
• Handle post-operative open heart surgical patients, AAA repair, vascular surgeries, and ECMO cases
• Manage complex conditions including renal failure with CRRT, respiratory failure, and sepsis
• Perform advanced skills including dysrhythmia interpretation and management, multisystem organ failure management
• Experience with specialized equipment: ECMO, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump, Swan Ganz monitoring, CVVHD/CRRT
• Arterial line management, central line care, ventilator management, and blood product administration
• Zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences

This major healthcare system operates a comprehensive cardiac intensive care unit specializing in advanced cardiovascular and surgical care. The facility features a 26-bed CVICU that provides critical care for complex cardiac patients including post-operative surgical cases and advanced life support interventions. The unit is equipped with state-of-the-art technology including ECMO, balloon pumps, and continuous renal replacement therapy capabilities, supported by interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams.
