Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 36/36 schedule with every other weekend requirement
• Floating required to care for medical surgical type patients
• No call responsibilities
• Patient ratio of 6-7 patients
• Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
• 72 hours of orientation with 16 hours being non-billable
• 2 years of nursing experience required
• Epic charting system preferred
• Required certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS
• Must maintain permanent residence 100 miles or greater from hospital service area
• Participate in nursing student support and clinical education
• Handle patient diagnoses including general medical surgical, telemetry, orthopedics, urology, gastrology, respiratory, and comfort care
• Skills required include telemetry monitoring, accessing/managing ports, phlebotomy, tracheostomy care, wound care, IV management, and blood product administration
• Work with interdisciplinary support team including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Complete drug test within 12-14 calendar days prior to start date
• Complete non-billable modules averaging 4-5 hours during orientation

Facility:

This community hospital operates two medical surgical units with a combined daily census of 54 patients across 60 beds and rooms. The facility provides comprehensive medical surgical care with full interdisciplinary support services and maintains modern equipment and resources. The organization is committed to nursing education and requires contract team members to actively participate in clinical education for nursing students as part of preparing future healthcare professionals.
