Opportunity:

RN - ICU Neuro

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Three shifts per week (3x12 hours)
• Every other weekend required plus holidays as needed
• One hardship shift depending on assignment timeframe
• Flexibility to rotate day/night shifts preferred
• Maximum 7 days RTO allowed
• Expected to work 2 of 3 upcoming holidays with no RTO between Christmas and New Years
• May be required to float to other ICUs or Med-Surg units (3 patient assignment)
• 8 hours of orientation provided
• Must have minimum 2 years Neuroscience ICU experience
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• EPIC experience required
• Must have strong experience in EVD, ICP monitoring, angiogram post care, CRRT, carotid procedures, and embolizations
• Care for critically ill stroke patients (ischemic and hemorrhagic) and non-traumatic neurosurgery patients 18 years and older
• Provide post-operative neurosurgery and neuro-endovascular care including ICP monitoring, mechanical thrombectomy, AVM repair, aneurysm repair, carotid stenting, craniotomy, CRRT, ventilator management, and hemodynamic monitoring
• Tobacco and fragrance-free facility
• Manager interview required
• Clinical pre-screening required to determine clinical fit
• Modules completed pre-start (5-6 hours, billable)

This healthcare organization operates a 10-bed Neurosurgical Intensive Care Unit (NSICU) that provides specialized care to critically ill patients. The facility offers comprehensive neurosurgical and neurological services with advanced equipment including Baxter CRRT systems, Natus EVD monitoring, Ceribell seizure detection, and NeurOptics pupillometry. The unit serves as both a specialized neuroscience ICU and overflow unit for medical patients, maintaining DNV Comprehensive Stroke accreditation requirements and providing interdisciplinary support services including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams.
