Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Schedule requires 3 shifts per week (3x12 hours)
• Weekend coverage required every other weekend (EOW)
• Holiday coverage as needed
• Patient ratio of 5:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• 8 hours of orientation provided
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• ACLS and BLS certifications required (AHA or ARC only)
• EPIC charting system experience required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• No call requirements
• Float to all medical-surgical floors and potentially rehabilitation unit
• May float to stroke unit (3South) and peritoneal dialysis unit (4East)
• Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
• Manage patients with CHF exacerbations, respiratory illness, arrhythmias, general surgery, orthopedic conditions, end-of-life care, COPD, and sepsis
• Handle occasional stable open heart surgery patients transferred from ICU (typically day 4-5 post-op)
• Work with special equipment including Artisight virtual nurses and virtual sitters
• Tobacco and fragrance-free facility
• Maximum 7-day requested time off policy
• Pre-start modules required (5-6 hours to complete)

Facility:

This healthcare facility operates a comprehensive medical-surgical telemetry unit with 35 beds across 21 rooms, maintaining a daily census of approximately 30 patients. The facility provides extensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation. The organization maintains high standards with a tobacco and fragrance-free environment and utilizes advanced technology including virtual nursing capabilities.
