Description
Opportunity:
RN - Stepdown
Job Details:
• Work in a brand new stepdown unit expected to open March 8, 2026
• Maintain 1:3 patient ratio with 12 beds total and average daily census of 11 patients
• Every other weekend requirement with 6 weekend shifts per contract
• 36-hour orientation period required
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Travel experience required - first time travelers not accepted
• Epic charting system experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Any color scrubs permitted
• Float expectations include helping hands/team nursing approach with assistance in ICU and ED
• Care for patients with respiratory failure, diabetic ketoacidosis, sepsis, post-surgical care, stable single organ trauma, and stroke
• Perform arterial/central line management, telemetry monitoring, BiPAP/high flow oxygen, epicardial wire care, and chest tube management
• Work with specialized equipment including lifts in every room, noninvasive fluid management systems, air taps, and telemetry monitoring
• Use Omnicell medication system, EPIC documentation, and SBAR communication protocols
• Must be flexible with new unit processes and potential changes during startup phase

This healthcare facility is expanding its services with the addition of a brand new stepdown unit designed to provide intermediate care for patients who require more monitoring than general medical floors but less intensive care than ICU settings. The facility offers comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretaries. The organization maintains high standards for patient care and utilizes modern technology and equipment to support optimal patient outcomes.

I am an Adult Cardiac Sonographer and I have been traveling for almost 3 years now and pretty much all the time with ADEX Healthcare staffing. I always look around for all the options as most of travelers do, but end up with this company, because They don’t fail me! Good competitive rates and always attention. Vincent Poast is the guy you want to deal with no matter what is your experience in traveling and profession. He always explains all pros and cons of a contract. I feel like he is on my side compared to other recruiters. The most important part for me that he always answers my calls and texts no matter if it’s a weekend or after hours! Also, if he can’t help me directly, he would get a ADEX staff member who resolves an issue right the way. The whole team has been very helpful for almost 6 contracts now. Oh, and another very important thing for me that Vince never pushes to get into a contract and bothers like a lot of other recruiters that calling and texting day and night. He lets you decide what you really want !
