Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts with 36 or 48 hours per week options
• Patient ratio of 1:3-4
• Every other weekend requirement
• Floating required to sister ICCU unit as needed
• 13-week contract assignments available
• Must have minimum 2 years of experience
• Required certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH stroke scale
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Hospital orientation required during first week
• Experience required with arterial lines, titrating vasoactive drips, PCU/stepdown care
• Must be skilled in telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience needed with chest tubes, BiPAP/CPAP, tracheostomy management
• Must be comfortable with blood product administration and central line care
• Unit runs more like an ICU requiring strong drip experience
• Care for patients with respiratory distress, unstable hemodynamics, post-op complications
• Manage cardiac drips including Cardizem, Nitro, Precedex, Levophed, Dopamine
• Work with Epic charting system and Pyxis medication dispensing
• Dress code requires navy, white, or combination scrubs
• Maximum 7 days RTO allowed, must work 2 out of 3 major holidays

This healthcare facility operates a 20-bed progressive care unit that functions as an ICU stepdown unit, providing specialized care for patients requiring close monitoring and advanced interventions. The unit maintains modern equipment including bedside telemetry monitors, arterial lines, and respiratory support devices. The facility emphasizes interdisciplinary support with services including IV teams, respiratory therapy, rapid response teams, and pharmacy support to ensure comprehensive patient care in a technologically advanced environment.
