Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work night shifts with every other weekend (EOW) schedule
• Option for 4x12 hour shifts available
• Float to like units as needed
• Possible charge nurse responsibilities when required
• Patient ratio of 1:6 for adults and geriatrics
• 30-bed unit caring for regular medical surgical patients
• 30-minute lunch break required with no skipped meals policy
• Must adhere to call-in policy and facility attendance requirements
• Float required to similar units within the facility
• Weekend coverage required
• One pre-approved time off request allowed (maximum 7 days)
• Alabama nursing license required
• Current BLS via AHA certification required
• Fit test required for respiratory protection
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred
• Skills include IV starts, isolation precautions, wound care/wound vac management
• Experience with colostomy/ileostomy care, feeding tube management, blood product administration
• PICC line management, heparin and insulin administration, PCA pumps
• Surgical drain care, oxygen administration, and various medical equipment
• Level II trauma experience preferred
• Travel experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
• Charting system experience required
