Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 8-hour, 10-hour, or 12-hour shifts with guaranteed hours: 40 hours per week (8 and 10 hour shifts), 36 hours per week (3 twelve-hour shifts), or 48 hours per week (4 twelve-hour shifts)
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6
• Every other weekend required, with potential consecutive weekends based on operational needs
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• 2 years of nursing experience required
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Charge experience preferred
• BLS certification required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Float within scope to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) at University and Methodist Hospitals - floating is 100% required
• Care for post-operative patients (Urology, GYN, GI, Orthopedic) and some pre-operative patients
• Fast-paced unit requiring ability to hit the ground running
• Skills required: interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, feeding tube care, port access/management, continuous bladder irrigation, blood product administration, central line blood draws, peripheral line care, phlebotomy, PICC line management, IV management, heparin and insulin administration, PCA, surgical drains, isolation precautions, wound care/wound vac
• Indiana state license required and must be in hand prior to start date
• University must be accredited by ACEN or CCNE
• 2 supervisor references required
• Call-in shifts must be made up during pay period or added to end of contract
• Refusal to float may result in contract termination
