Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Strong urology skillset required - candidates must have majority 3s & 4s in urology section to pass
• IV start skills required
• BLS certification required
• Cerner charting system experience required
• Patient ratios: 5 patients on nights and weekends
• Weekend coverage required - must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• 36 hours of orientation provided
• First time travelers accepted
• Charge experience preferred with $3.00 per hour charge pay differential available
• Must float to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) at University and Methodist Hospitals
• Call-in policy requires makeup shifts or extension of contract
• Special procedures include CBI and hand irrigations
• Work with adult patients with diagnoses including urology, plastic surgery, orthopedic oncology, surgical oncology hospitalist
• 38-bed unit with daily census of 28 patients
• Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation
