Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Travel experience required - will screen first-time travelers
• Must be flexible with weekend requirements and work 50% of weekends in contract
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Patient ratios: 4-5 patients during days, 4-6 patients during nights, 4-5 patients on weekends
• Care for adult patients with GI/Liver medical conditions, ERCP, CAPD, pre-transplant, and chronic pancreatitis
• 36 hours of orientation provided
• Required certifications: BCLS
• Must have IV start skills and experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with feeding tube care, heparin, insulin, blood product administration, and wound care/wound vac
• Level 1 Trauma experience required, telemetry experience preferred
• Floating required to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) at University and Methodist Hospitals
• May be required to provide charge nurse coverage with training and resources
• Must agree to possibility of precepting and/or having students shadow during assignment
• Indiana/Compact license required in hand or fingerprint application submitted
• Call-in policy requires makeup shifts or contract extension
• Cerner charting system preferred
• Up to 5 days of non-holiday time off can be auto-approved

The organization maintains high standards for patient care with interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. The facility operates with a daily census of approximately 20 patients and provides extensive resources for both staff and patient care.
