Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Details:

• Work 3x12 hour night shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM (Monday-Thursday)
• No Friday shifts required (unit closed on Fridays)
• No weekend or holiday requirements
• No on-call responsibilities
• Patient ratio of 1:6 maximum, 1:3 expected
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Possible floating to another observation unit or days shift, or called off for low census
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS
• South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact RN license required
• Guaranteed hours with facility allowed to call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
• Six bay 23-hour observation unit within surgery center PACU
• Staffing model of 2 RNs and 1 PCT, with possibility of 1 RN and 1 PCT some nights
• Care for orthopedic, interventional radiology, and GI patients
• Work with total joint replacements, arthroscopy cases, hand/shoulder/elbow procedures
• Handle VIR procedures and upper/lower endoscopy cases
• Skills required: ambulatory/outpatient care, pre/post operative care, IV management, airway assessment, conscious sedation monitoring, medication reconciliation, lab value interpretation
• Building security present overnight in surgery center waiting room after 8 PM
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Complete approximately 4 hours of non-billable modules pre-start
