Opportunity:

RN - PreOp

Job Details:

• Work 10-hour shifts, 4 days per week from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM
• No weekends, no call, no nights, and no major holidays
• Scheduled day off based on department needs, but special requests considered when possible
• May be required to float within scope to meet facility needs
• 1 year of nursing experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
• South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact RN license required
• Responsible for prepping patients prior to surgery including reviewing history, reconciling medications, obtaining vital signs and EKGs, starting IVs, blood sugar checks, and administering IV fluids/antibiotics and medications
• Provide post-anesthesia recovery care including monitoring vital signs through phases of recovery and discharge planning
• Care for variety of patients including orthopedics, interventional radiology, and gastroenterology procedures
• Work collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and OR nurses in fast-paced environment
• Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks with guaranteed hours breakdown
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of application

Facility:

This medical pavilion features a comprehensive preoperative and post-anesthesia care unit with 20 patient bays, 2 operating rooms, 2 GI procedural rooms, and 1 interventional radiology procedural room. The facility is staffed with 10 registered nurses and 1 patient care technician, providing specialized care for orthopedic procedures, interventional radiology services, and gastroenterology procedures. The facility maintains high standards for patient safety and effective care delivery in an ambulatory surgical setting.
