Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work in Surgical PCU with near ICU-level acuity caring for adult patients
• Patient ratio of 1:3-4
• Must work 6 weekends per 13-week contract with every other weekend requirement
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• 48 hours of orientation provided
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS and BCLS
• Must be proficient in cardiac monitoring, chest tube management, fresh trach care, feeding tube management, epidural care, non-titratable cardiac drips, IV insulin protocols, BiPAP/CPAP, and total laryngectomy care
• Must be willing to float to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) at University and Methodist Hospitals - refusal to float may result in contract termination
• May be required to provide charge nurse coverage with training and resources
• Must agree to possibility of precepting and/or being assigned students
• Call-in policy requires makeup shifts within pay period or added to end of contract
• First-time travelers accepted
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Must have university degree from ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 supervisor references required
• License must be in hand prior to start date
