RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts with 36 or 48 hours per week options available
• Patient ratios of 1:3-4 patients
• Every other weekend requirement
• Float to sister ICCU unit as needed
• Minimum 2 years of experience required, accepts first-time travelers
• Must have strong drip experience and arterial line management skills
• Required certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Experience required with IV starts, telemetry, and conscious sedation
• Skills needed: titrating vasoactive drips, chest tube management, BiPAP/CPAP, tracheostomy care, blood product administration, central and peripheral line management
• Must be comfortable with isolation precautions and managing cardiac drips
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Hospital orientation required during first week with daily classes
• 24 hours of orientation provided
• Dress code: Navy, white scrubs or combination of both
• Maximum 7 days RTO allowed, must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Cannot work more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
• 13-week contract length
• Care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients with ICU stepdown conditions

Facility:

This healthcare facility operates a 20-bed ICU stepdown unit with an average daily census of 18 patients. The unit specializes in caring for post-rapid response patients, those with respiratory distress, unstable hemodynamics, and various post-operative cases. The facility is equipped with bedside telemetry monitors, arterial lines, BiPAP units, and chest tubes, but no ventilators on the unit. Patients requiring more than one pressor drip are transferred to the main ICU. The unit utilizes Epic charting system and Pyxis medication management.
