RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work in a 26-bed mixed acuity unit with 15 PCU beds and 11 MedSurg beds
• Specialize in advanced pulmonary care including COPD, CHF, pulmonary fibrosis, lung cancer, and lung transplant patients
• Care for tracheostomy patients including fresh tracheostomies and stable trach-to-ventilator patients
• Handle high acuity patients with tuberculosis and other pulmonary conditions
• PCU patient assignments are 1:4 ratio, MedSurg assignments are 1:5-6 ratio
• May receive mixed assignments of 4-5 patients combining MedSurg and PCU patients
• Float to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) as needed
• Work every other weekend with possibility of consecutive weekends based on operational needs
• Charge nurse responsibilities may be required with provided training and resources
• Must be willing to precept students and have students shadow during assignment
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
• Minimum 2 years PCU experience required or MedSurg RN with ICU and PCU patient experience plus additional 2 years
• Travel experience required
• Charge experience preferred or willingness to train as charge is required
• Skills include arterial line management, cardiac drip titration, cardiac telemetry, blood product administration, central line care, ventilated patient care, and tracheostomy management
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Call-ins require makeup shifts or extension of contract
• Flu vaccine required with medical/religious exemptions only
