Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Float pool position covering approximately 5 Med/Surg Intermediate/PCU departments
• Float between departments, units, and facilities as needed including other Metro campuses
• Patient ratio of 1:5 across all shifts
• 1-2 years of experience required, first-time travelers accepted
• Must have 2 years of recent specialty experience with full year of in-specialty experience within past 12 months
• Weekend requirement: 8 weekend shifts in 6-week schedule period (combination of Friday/Saturday/Sunday)
• Holiday shifts and charge RN assignments as needed per unit
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
• Preferred certification: ACLS
• Required skills: MS/Tele, Telemetry, Cardiac Telemetry, Neuro Stepdown, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, telemetry monitoring, Pre/Post Cardiac Cath procedures
• Must be comfortable with sepsis, wound care, ETOH, SI, renal failure, AFIB, GIB, stroke, and COVID patients
• Preferred skills: Sheath removal, feeding tube care and management, accessing ports, blood product administration, central line care/management
• Work with specialized equipment: Virtual Nurses, 12 lead EKG, AirVo, Voalte, Omnicell
• 12 hours of orientation required
• Must have both Kansas and Missouri licenses or compact license at time of submission
• 3 guaranteed shifts per 13-week contract
• Maximum 7 days request time off allowed
• Epic charting system experience required
