RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Specializes in post-operative GI and wound care on an inpatient medical/surgical unit
• Patient ratio of 6:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• 24-hour orientation provided
• Weekend coverage required with every other holiday
• May receive Med Surg overflow patients
• Can be pulled to all other inpatient units as needed
• Must be available for "Emergency Team" assignments during facility emergencies
• 2 years of experience required with minimum of one completed travel contract
• Post-operative experience on a full-time basis required
• Acute care experience required
• Must live more than 65 miles from facility
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA)
• Compact or Louisiana license required upon submission
• NURSYS report required (within 4 weeks of submission)
• Experience with patient diagnoses including pancreatitis, GI bleeds, bowel obstructions, wound infections, and post-op complications
• Proficiency with special equipment: PEG, PEJ, PCA, surgical drains, wound vacs, ostomy care, and nephrostomy tubes
• Handle special procedures including pancreatectomy, esophagectomy, Whipple, colectomy, bariatric surgery, and various surgical resections
• Skills required: telemetry monitoring, colostomy/ileostomy management, wound care, central line management, EPIC charting system
