RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Details:

• Work 3 twelve-hour shifts per week with call requirements
• Day shift: 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM (pre-op) or evening shift: 8:00 AM to 8:30 PM (post-op)
• On-call requirements include weekend rotation, Friday rotation, and weeknight on-call shifts
• Average 3 on-call shifts per 6-week period including one summer and one winter on-call shift
• Patient ratio of 2:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• Care for adult and pediatric patients with post-surgical and post-procedural diagnoses
• Handle complex procedures including craniotomies, transplants, trauma cases, and various surgical specialties
• Work with specialized equipment including vents, A-lines, Swan catheters, drains, and vasoactive IV titrations
• Possible float to Tabor GI or pain center when needed
• Scrubs provided by facility
• 16 hours of orientation required
• Use Cerner Aecis Surgi Net charting system
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC (TNCC must be obtained within 3 weeks of start date)
• Minimum 2+ years of critical care or PACU experience required
• Level I Trauma experience and ICU background required
• SICU, MICU, and CTICU experience preferred
• First-time travelers welcome
• 13-week assignment length
• Must complete labs within 48 hours of signing
• PA fingerprints required
• Pass/Fail exam required for clearance (3 attempts maximum)

This healthcare facility operates a comprehensive PACU unit with 28 beds handling approximately 30 visits per day. The facility specializes in complex surgical procedures and maintains Level I Trauma designation, providing advanced post-anesthesia care for patients across all age groups. The unit features state-of-the-art equipment and interdisciplinary support services including interpretation services, social services, and pharmacy support to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
