RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work 36/36 schedule with rotating weekends and holidays
• No call responsibilities required
• Floating required to Medical Surgical units with 1:7 ratio
• Patient ratios: 1:5 during days and nights, 1:3 on weekends in PCU
• Care for adult patients with daily census of 33 patients across 33 beds
• 24 hours of orientation including 16 hours of non-billable orientation
• 2 years of nursing experience required, accepts first-time travelers
• Required certifications: AHA BLS, NIH Stroke Scale, AHA ACLS
• Skills include telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, central and peripheral line care, blood product administration, cardiac drip management (no titration), oxygen administration, and isolation precautions
• Special procedures include dialysis and peritoneal dialysis
• Expected to participate in nursing student support and clinical education
• Must complete drug test 12-14 calendar days prior to start date
• Facial hair must be trimmed for CDC fit testing guidelines
• Complete non-billable modules averaging 4-5 hours during orientation
• Permanent residence must be 100 miles or more from hospital service area
• License in-hand required with submission
• Weekend coverage includes 2 Saturdays and 2 Sundays per schedule period for day shift, or 6 Friday/Saturday/Sunday shifts per period for night shift

This healthcare facility operates a 33-bed Progressive Care Unit providing intermediate-level care for adult patients requiring closer monitoring than general medical-surgical units. The facility offers comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary services. The organization is committed to nursing education and clinical excellence, requiring all nursing staff to actively participate in mentoring future nurses through student support programs.
