RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts with 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend requirement
• Patient ratio of 1:6 target (maximum 1:7 during high census/critical staffing)
• Floating required as needed to similar units
• 24 hours of unit orientation required
• Self-scheduling system
• 13-week contracts available
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Must have EPIC experience (required)
• Required certifications: BCLS
• Preferred certifications: ACLS, NIH
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Skills required: IV start, telemetry monitoring
• Dress code: Navy and/or white scrubs
• Work with Pyxis, EPIC, and SBAR systems
• Care for medical-surgical patients (no cardiac telemetry patients)
• Must adhere to strict call-off policy
• Cannot work more than 5 days in a row or more than 60 hours per week
• Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable modules pre-start and annually

Facility:

This major healthcare facility operates a comprehensive medical-surgical telemetry unit with 40 beds and maintains a daily census of 40 patients. The facility provides extensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretaries. The organization emphasizes teamwork and maintains high behavioral expectations for all staff interactions with patients and colleagues.
