Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work 3x12 hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required with holidays as needed
• Patient ratio of 5:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• Floating required as needed to other units
• 24 hours of orientation provided
• Minimum 2 years of experience required (first time travelers accepted)
• Cardiac telemetry experience required
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Must pass mandatory EKG exam during compliance (2 attempts allowed)
• Focus on cardiac patients including Congestive Heart Failure, rule-out myocardial infarction, Acute Coronary Syndrome, and Arrhythmias
• Secondary focus on respiratory problems such as COPD and pneumonia
• Care for adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including Heart Failure, Respiratory Failure, NSTEMI, COPD, and Pneumonia
• Skills required include pre/post cardiac cath care, TR band management, IV insulin protocols, cardiac drip titration, BiPAP/CPAP management, high flow nasal cannula, telemetry monitoring, and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Must complete compliance requirements by 12 noon EST the Wednesday prior to start date
• Zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences

This healthcare organization operates a 30-bed Progressive Care Unit with a daily census of 30 patients. The facility provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretarial support. The organization maintains high standards for patient care and requires strict compliance procedures for all contracted staff.
