RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts with 36 hours guaranteed weekly
• 13 to 26 week contracts available
• Patient ratio of 1:6-7
• Floating required as needed with potential to float every shift
• 5-6 weekend shifts required (every other weekend)
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• 24 hours of orientation provided
• Navy scrubs required (not provided)
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Telemetry and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience required
• Must have interpretation of dysrhythmias and remote monitoring experience
• Pre/Post Cardiac Cath, Pre/Post Cardiac Surgery, and Sheath Removal experience required
• Experience with accessing ports, blood product administration, central line/PICC line management required
• Must be able to titrate cardiac drips including Diltiazem and Amiodarone
• Required certifications: ACLS
• Preferred certifications: NIH
• Must be comfortable with cardiac drips (Dobutamine, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Milrinone, Dopamine)
• Experience with sheath pulls, TR bands, and Femstop required
• Documentation systems: EPIC, Pyxis, SBAR
• Self-scheduling per unit needs
• Must work Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team as assigned
• Fatigue policy: Cannot work more than 5 days in a row or 60 hours per week
• 8-10 hours of non-billable modules required pre-start and annually

Facility:

This major regional medical center operates a comprehensive cardiac telemetry unit that monitors 42-bed capacity with 43 total beds available. The facility specializes in cardiac care including patients with congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, and pacemaker/ICD implantations. The unit provides advanced cardiac monitoring with full interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and comprehensive diagnostic services. The organization maintains high standards for patient care and requires staff to meet specific behavioral expectations in all patient and staff interactions.
