RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Patient ratio of 1:5-6 on days/nights, 1:6 on weekends in a 32-bed telemetry unit
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required, first-time travelers not accepted
• Prior travel experience and specific drip experience required (hard stop requirement)
• Must have experience with cardiac drips: Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Milrinone, Nitroglycerin
• Must have experience with diuretics: Bumex, Lasix
• Must have experience with anticoagulants: Aggrastat, Argatroban, Heparin
• Must have insulin drip experience
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Work with adult to geriatric patient population
• Care for overflow IMCU patients with conditions including arrhythmia management, cardioversion, cardiac CHF, chest pain, renal, pulmonary conditions, PE, DVT, post-cardiac cath patients
• Handle surgical patients including cholecystectomy, appendectomy, chest tubes, biliary drains
• Manage TR bands and DKA patients
• Float to like units within facility as needed
• Weekend coverage typically every other weekend, with permanent staff scheduled first
• Call requirements are rare with 2-hour response time
• Holiday work required based on number of holidays during assignment period
• Maximum 7 days RTO per contract
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Work with Epic charting system (preferred), Pyxis, and SBAR
• 36 hours of orientation required
• Full compliance required to start on time
