RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work in a mixed acuity Surgical Intensive Care Unit with ability to float to step-down units
• Patient ratios vary from 1:2-3 for unit patients to 1:4-5 for step-down acuity based on patient needs
• Every other weekend requirement
• No on-call responsibilities
• Must stay within 30 minutes of facility in case of emergency
• Minimum 2 years RN experience and 1 year travel experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Must have experience with vascular surgery population including AAA repair, carotid endarterectomy, fem-pop bypass, thrombectomy
• Experience required with post thoracic surgery, pneumonectomy, EVAR, intra-aortic balloon pump, TAVR
• Must be competent in stroke signs/symptoms assessment (BE-FAST), bedside dysphagia screening
• Experience in certified stroke center critical care unit preferred
• Knowledge of current stroke guidelines and performance measures for acute ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes
• Skills include managing arterial lines, chest tubes, ventilated patients, cardiac drips, vasoactive drips, IABP, Swan Ganz monitoring
• Meditech charting system experience preferred
• Kentucky or compact state license required in hand
• 36-hour orientation provided on Mondays
• 13-week assignment length
• Flu vaccine required with no exemptions accepted
