RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• 16-week assignment available
• 1:2 patient ratio (1:1 for high acuity patients)
• Required to float to Progressive Care unit
• 24-hour orientation provided
• 2 years of nursing experience required
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
• License and certifications must be in hand prior to submission
• Required skills include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, arterial line management, starting IVs, continuous IV sedation, titrating cardiac drips, care of ventilated patients, and ventilator management
• Care for adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including respiratory failure, sepsis, CHF, STEMI, and surgical cases
• Work with special equipment including IABP and CVVHD (not required for travel contract)
• No ECMO, transplant, or neuro trauma/neurosurgery cases
• First time travelers accepted
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• 2 supervisor references required

This healthcare facility features an 18-bed open critical care unit with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretaries. The facility maintains high standards of care while providing a supportive environment for critical care nursing. The unit operates without ECMO or transplant services, focusing on medical and surgical critical care with excellent staffing ratios and modern equipment.
