RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts in a Progressive Care Unit that operates like an ICU
• 36 or 48 hours per week available
• 13-week contract duration
• Patient ratios: 1:3-4
• Every other weekend requirement
• Floating required to sister ICCU unit as needed
• Maximum 7 days RTO allowed
• No block scheduling permitted
• Must have 2 years of experience with strong drip experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Experience required with arterial lines, titrating vasoactive drips, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Must be skilled in blood product administration, central line care, PICC line management, heparin protocols
• Experience with chest tubes, external CPAP/BIPAP, high flow nasal cannula, tracheostomy management required
• Hospital orientation required during first week with daily class attendance
• Epic and Pyxis systems used
• Scrubs: Navy, white, or combination of both
• Care for post rapid response patients, respiratory distress, unstable hemodynamics, withdrawal, GI bleeds, post-operative patients
• Manage patients with one pressor drip maximum (Cardizem, Nitro, Precedex, Cardene, Levophed, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Neo)
• Work with bedside telemetry monitors, A-lines, BIPAPs, chest tubes, trachs (no vents on unit)
• Patient age range: adolescent, adult, geriatric
