RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work on 3 North medical-surgical unit specializing in post-operative care of colorectal surgery patients
• Provide care for adult surgical oncology patients, specifically general surgery, pancreatic and hepatobiliary cancers
• Care for ENT patients and colorectal overflow patients
• Patient ratios: 1:4-5 during days, 1:5 during nights
• 24-bed unit caring for adults and geriatric patients
• High acuity medical-surgical environment
• Required to work every other weekend per contract schedule
• Must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Floating required to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) within University and Methodist Hospitals
• Charge nurse responsibilities may be required based on operational needs with training provided
• Must be fit-tested for N95 mask or trained on PAPR device for negative-airflow room patients
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Level 1 trauma experience preferred
• BCLS certification required
• Special skills required: NG tube insertions, epidurals, PCAs, wound care, dressings, central line management, Foley care/management
• Experience with blood product administration, central line blood draws, feeding tube care, insulin administration, isolation precautions/PPE, and surgical drains
• Cerner charting system experience preferred
• First time travelers accepted, local Indiana RN travelers not accepted
• Travel nursing university must be ACEN or CCNE accredited
