RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• 2 years of nursing experience required
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS preferred
• Indiana state license required and must be in hand prior to start date
• 24 hours of orientation provided
• Patient ratio goal of 5:1 with charge out of staffing, may flex to 6:1
• Care for adult and geriatric patients with wide variety of diagnoses
• Float requirements: may float to ICU/PCU or ED for med-surg patient holds (unlikely but possible)
• Unit receives 8-12 admits over 24-hour period from OR/ED/downgrades from ICU/PCU
• Weekend coverage required
• Experience with Cerner charting system preferred
• Skills include: accessing/managing ports, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line care, chest tubes, PCA, telemetry monitoring, wound care/wound vac, and various other medical-surgical skills
• Unit census averages 25 patients with 32 beds available
• Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and social services
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred

The hospital focuses on providing quality care for post-operative patients, emergency department admissions, and patients stepping down from higher levels of care.
