RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• 36 hours per week can be offered with 13-week contracts available
• Patient ratios: 1:1 during nights, 1:1 during days, 2:1 on weekends
• Every other weekend requirement
• Float requirement within hospital or to affiliate hospitals nearby
• Self-scheduling system
• Must have minimum 2 years critical care experience
• Must have CVICU or open heart experience required
• No first-time travelers accepted
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Scrubs: Navy, white, or combination of both
• Required skills include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, ECMO, IABP, post cardiac surgery care, Swan Ganz monitoring, TAVR, VAD management, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, continuous IV sedation, cardiac drip titration, ventilated patient care, ABG interpretation
• Preferred skills include port access/management, vasoactive drip titration, chest tube assistance, BiPAP/CPAP management, HFNC, ventilator management
• Care for post open heart recovery patients, thoracotomies, esophagogastrectomies, and TAVR patients
• Work with special equipment including CRRT, Impella, IABP, VAD, and ECMO
• Use EPIC documentation system and PYXIS medication system
• Hospital orientation required first week with daily class attendance
• 8-10 hours of non-billable modules required pre-start and annually
• Cannot work more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week per fatigue policy

Facility:

This major healthcare system operates a comprehensive cardiovascular intensive care unit that provides advanced cardiac care including post-operative open heart surgery recovery. The facility maintains a 14-bed CVICU with a daily census of 11-14 patients and offers specialized procedures including TAVR, thoracotomies, and esophagogastrectomies. The unit is equipped with state-of-the-art technology including ECMO, ventricular assist devices, and continuous renal replacement therapy, supported by interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams.
