RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts with 36 or 48 hours per week
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6
• 13-week contract available
• Required to work 4 weekend shifts per each 6-week schedule
• Floating required as needed to similar units
• First time travelers accepted
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BCLS, and NIH
• Required skills: IV Start and Telemetry
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• NC or Compact license required
• Care for pre/post cardiac catheterization patients, pacemaker and AICD patients
• Manage patients with TIA, carotid stent procedures, and cardiac arrhythmias
• Administer cardiac drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Renal Dose Dopamine, Lasix, and non-titrating Nitro
• Work with rapid patient turnover with average length of stay 1.8-2.4 days
• Cannot work more than 5 days in a row or more than 60 hours per week per fatigue policy
• Any absences must be made up at end of contract
• Must complete 8-10 hours of non-billable modules pre-start and annually

Facility:

This healthcare facility operates a 24-bed inpatient cardiac procedural unit (CPPU) that combines cardiac telemetry with pre and post cardiac procedural care. The unit features state-of-the-art equipment including in-room monitoring and EKG capabilities, remote telemetry monitoring, and modern Hil-Rom beds. The facility provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. An ADT nurse is available Monday through Friday during peak patient transition times to support the high patient turnover environment.
